I think I have figured out how to make the perfect GF fish stick. I used the Joy of Cooking recipe for hush puppies, doubled the eggs, and at least tripled the water. For fish, I used tilapia fillets cut to size and dredged in masa (which is also what I used instead of cornmeal in the batter). They were really really good and I am a happy camper ( Read more... )

Man, I am not feeling motivated this morning. I think the main problem is that I can't decide whether to put Ms. Amparo (the cleaning lady I want to get a job so I can hire) off until Monday as I wasn't as productive as I wanted to be this week and because I have some stuff that I need to do outside of the house this morning. 1. Finish unloading the dishwasher & run empty
   
2. Put away all clean dishes - Half done
   
3. Wash up fleishig dishes that didn't come clean
   
4. Bring in dry laundry while waiting for David's bus
   
5. Pull Virginia creeper from side of house while waiting for David's bus

Not too bad a morning. Got a fair amount of stuff done, and now I am making lunch, cleaning the kitchen, and getting ready to deal with the library. I've got about 45 minutes before David gets home. I am hot and sweaty and probably seriously grubby and happy.

1. Start load of laundry
   
2. Take Adam's new weed-slasher and knock back the weeds
   
3. Mow the lawn - Not all of it, but all of it that I'm going to do today
   
4. Rake the dog yard
   
5. Finish clearing off the patio
   
6. Weed, or at least mow, the patio
   
7. Hang out laundry
   
8. Come inside for lunch
   
9. Regroup
